——丰富了我的教学经历
    我是一名在中国教学的新西兰教师,在中国海洋大学教授英国高等教育文凭项目课程,丰富了我的教学经历。
我教授市场和人力资源两个专业,按照清晰、严谨的课程大纲教授课程。详细的课程要求、评估方法,使我更能够准确把握教学内容。同时在网上还有很多的资源,学生可以通过它们获得更多的课外材料,拓宽专业知识。因为有了课程大纲的正确指导,使得教学质量得以保障。
    按照英国高等教育文凭项目课程教学的要求,教师和学生之间建立了一种良好的教学关系。教学大纲要求学生了解每门课程的学习目标和成果,学生可以在课堂上与老师共同进行讨论式的学习。明确的目标和灵活的授课方式使得他们学习主动、态度积极。
    最后,我想谈的体会是:该课程要求教师的授课方法与学生的适应能力结合在一起,每个学期英方专家要对学校的教学情况进行审核。外审有以下几点好处:首先,可以使我对自己的教学更加负责;其次,让学生知道英方专家要检查他们的作业和考试情况,可以提高学生学习的努力程度;再者,该课程确实能够使学生取得很大的收获。

   My Experience Enhanced in teaching this programme

As a New Zealander teaching in China, my experience has been filled with many new situations. Participation in the this programme has contributed to my new learning experiences here in Ocean University of China.

I am teaching Marketing and Human Resource Management subjects. I found that the subjects were well structured and easy to understand in terms of delivery. The text books and teacher’s manuals are easy to follow because of the specific instructions on content and assessment. There are also online resources supplied for students to read extra materials and gain a wider understanding on each subject. As a result of the thorough guidelines, each step is clearly outlined ensuring that the entire topic is taught properly.

The structure of the programme provides a good foundation for teaching, which in turn enhances relationships between the teacher and students. Because the delivery of each subject is clear much of the time in class can be spent working with students and discussion can be created. Many students also enjoy the structured delivery as they know what outcomes have been covered, what needs to be done and to what specific standard it must be achieved at. The students appear to have a positive attitude to this method of delivery which can be maintained through constantly achieving short term goals.

Finally, both the delivery and students progress is tied together and monitored externally once a semester. This external moderation helps in so many ways. Firstly, it keeps me as a teacher accountable for my delivery and assessment. It also creates an atmosphere of discipline among the students as they know. The benefits for this process of teaching are seen through the students improvement in both their major of study and English level in which progress can be seen each month. Ultimately, it is the students who are benefiting from their involvement in the high-education programme.
