格林威治大学 The University of Greenwich

.         学校位于英国首都伦敦，紧临泰晤士河，面对世界金融中心－金丝雀码头（CANARY WHARF）背靠英国皇家格林威治天文台，海事博物馆。

.         2012年伦敦奥运会马术赛场所在地。

.         校园建筑群为英国古代皇宫，建于17世纪，号称英国的凡尔赛，为世界保存最好的巴洛克式风格建筑之一，属世界文化遗产。

.         格林威治大学是中国第一批留英学子严复、林泰曾、刘步蟾、林永生等人学习深造的地方。

.         现任校长Blackstone夫人曾于1997 - 2001年担任英国政府教育与就业部部长，并于2001-2003年担任文化部部长一职。于2004年8月31日正式担任格林威治大学校长一职。

.         学校是英国规模最大的10所大学之一

.         2000年、2002年及2007年，学校三次被授予英国女王奖章

 

 

格林威治大学创立于1890年，前身是建造在18世纪皇家军械库遗址上的英国第二所工程技术学院—乌威治理工学院。1992年经英国皇家教育委员会正式批准更名为格林威治大学。

目前有来自100多个国家的近22000多名学生就读于此。其中英国学生17,885人，占总人数的81%; 欧盟学生1,000人，占总人数的4.5%，国际学生3,200人，占总为数的14.5% （其中，中国学生约500 人，占总人数的2.3%）。

 

大学共有三个校区。

 

主校区格林威治校区（Maritime Greenwich）位于伦敦二区，离市中心8公里，轨道交通需15分钟车程。学校背靠格林威治天文台，面对历史悠久的泰晤士河，与英国金融中心CANARY WHARF隔河相望，与国家海事博物馆相邻，成就了皇家园林式的校园。该校区有商学院、计算机与数学科学院、人文学院及海事学院。

 

艾维尔校区（Avery Hill Campus）位于伦敦四区，与主校区有校车接送。整个校区分布在艾维尔利山公园两侧，原是诺斯上校的私人官邸，草坪宽阔，古树成林，山后有运动场和高尔夫球场，是英国少有的大型“花园式校区”。该校区有建筑学院、健康与社会保障学院及教育学院。

 

迈德维校区（ Medway Campus）地处格林威治校区以东，被誉为“英格兰花园”的肯特郡。这里是著名作家狄更斯的故乡，也曾是英国皇家海军军官的训练基地。校区附近的中世纪城堡是英国一处著名的旅游胜地，迈德维小集市也是令游人流连忘返的地方。该校区有工程学院、科学学院、药剂学院及自然资源研究所。

 

 

格林威治大学专业齐全，与工商业界有广泛联系，各学院众多专业获得世界著名专业机构认证，其会员资格得到到世界各大公司普遍认可。学生完成相关专业的学习后，可申请相应专业机构的认证，可获免全部或部分考试，便可成为其会员。对学生今后的就业提供了强有利的保证。

商学院获得认证的专业机构有：CIB CIMA-英国特许管理会计师协会、ACCA-英国特许公认会计师公会、CIM-英国特许营销协会、CIPD-英国特许人事和发展协会、IDM-英国市场直销协会、CILT-英国皇家物流与运输学会、CIPS-英国特许采购及供应学会、CMI-英国特许管理学会、ICAS-苏格兰特许会计师协会、AIA-英国国际会计师协会、LS-英国法律协会、BC-英国法律委员会。

 

计算机与数学学院获得认证的专业机构有：BCS-英国计算机协会、ECUK-英国工程委员会、IET-英国工程技术学会、IMA-英国数学及应用协会。
